Kuhusu sisiAbout us
Perfume with a Kenyan address.
Scents Central began in 2019 on a single bench in a Westlands flat, with a question: why did every good perfume in Nairobi smell like somewhere else? We set out to bottle the places we know.
What the colours mean to us
Black, for the people
Watu
Every perfume is composed, matured and bottled by hand in our Westlands studio, by a team of nine Nairobians.
Red, for the effort
Juhudi
Six weeks of maturing per batch, and three rounds of wear-testing in Nairobi heat before a scent is released.
Green, for the land
Ardhi
Tea from Kericho, coffee from Kiambu, honey from Baringo. Kenyan ingredients go in first, wherever we can find them.
Jinsi tunavyofanyaHow we work
From a place to a bottle
- 1
Tunasafiri · We travel
Each perfume starts with a trip: a week in Lamu, a morning on a Kericho estate, a storm over Kisumu.
- 2
Tunatunga · We compose
Back in Nairobi we build the accord, often through 40 or more trials, until it smells like the memory.
- 3
Tunasubiri · We wait
Every batch matures for six weeks before bottling. Patience is the one ingredient we never skip.
- 4
Tunawasilisha · We deliver
